What to expect from a Louisville Ghost Tour
You may not know it, but Louisville is considered an incredibly haunted city, and Old Louisville is one of the most haunted neighborhoods in America.
This tour is a 90 minute walking tour that starts outside the Filson Historical Society. This tour is part history tour and part haunted houses tour.
The historic ghost tours are led by local tour guides that have a deep love for Louisville, and its history. If there are large volumes of people that purchase tour tickets, there will be multiple guides to split up the group.
Tour itinerary and highlights
The Louisville Ghost Tour takes place in the evening at 730pm to add to the spooky flair. While it is an Old Louisville walking tour, you will not be walking the entire time. There are areas to sit while you listen to the different ghost stories.
Some of the highlights include:
- The Pink Palace
- Richard Robinson House aka Louisville Murder House
- The Witch’s Tree
- Conrad-Caldwell House Museum
The tour will end back at the starting point right around 9pm.

What to bring on your Louisville KY ghost tour
You shouldn’t need to bring much, if anything with you on this tour. The one thing you must bring is comfortable walking shoes. While there are times to sit on the tour, there is also a lot of standing, and of course walking. Since this tour takes place in one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city there are also old sidewalks. This means there are areas with uneven brick and cobblestones. Flat shoes and/or sneakers are recommended.
Since the tour runs most of the year, review the weather forecast and bring layers as needed for the evening stroll.

How to get to the Louisville ghost tour
This tour takes place entirely in Old Louisville, about 2.5 miles south of Downtown Louisville. If you have a car, there is plenty of street parking available. If you are car free during your trip, I’d recommend getting an Uber/Lyft over walking, as you’ll already be on your feet for most of the tour.
My Old Louisville Ghost Tours Review
I really enjoyed taking the Old Louisville Ghost Tour for a number of reasons. Since the tour is in the evening, it gives you something to do besides hang out at a bar. At 90 minutes it’s just enough time to enjoy learning the unique history of Louisville’s oldest neighborhood, without being long enough to get bored. I loved the stories but also learning about the architecture and historic homes. Lastly, I think the price is very reasonable.
If you love haunted history, this is the tour for you.
