Hi, I’m Carli!

Hello, my name is Carli. I was born and raised in Minnesota but moved to Seattle to attend the University of Washington after visiting the Pacific Northwest (usually Cannon Beach/Seaside, Oregon) every summer from around the age of 12 through college.
My love of travel probably started following my elementary school graduation and flying to New York City to visit my aunt in Manhattan for the first of many visits. I fell in LOVE with the buzz of the city, going to shops and museums, and especially the subway.
My mom and I also started going on an annual tropical spring break starting in middle school. If you know anything about Minnesota winters, you know they are HARSH! I’m talking brutally cold with snow lasting into May some years. So it’s pretty standard for Minnesotans to escape in March, and there were usually always cheap travel options available with short flights to Florida, the Caribbean or the Gulf of Mexico. During these trips I discovered scuba diving and even became scuba certified following my 18th birthday.
I was lucky enough to study abroad my senior year in Rome with the UW art program. This was my first time traveling to Europe. Not only did i get to see many regions of Italy while there, I also traveled to London and Paris to visit friends, and train around the Med with my mom.
My background is in art, art history and interior design so I also love spending hours wandering museums, taking a historic walking tour to learn more about where I’m visiting, and viewing the different architectural styles throughout the world.
As I’ve gotten older and finally have had additional income and PTO travel has become one of my biggest priorities. I am the travel planner of my friend group, I was regularly traveling for work throughout the Northwest, and following Covid have really jumped into solo travel because you never know what might happen. My advice is just take the trip you want and if someone wants to join, then that’s a bonus.
Fast forward to today. Having lost my job in August of 2023 (thanks corporate America!) I decided the best way to spend my additional free time is to focus on something I truly love: Travel. This page is a way for me to share places I’ve visited, and what I’ve learned that will hopefully inspire someone else. If you like what you see maybe you can even buy me a coffee.
To date I’ve visited all 7 continents, 36 countries and 39 states in the US. I’m also now a part time travel advisor, helping share all my travel knowledge to help book your own adventures. You can fill out my travel intake form if you would like assistance booking future travel.
Thanks for reading!
Carli
