About the Sis Kata Resort
This is very much an adult hotel, meant for those that want to stay in a vibrant but not obnoxious atmosphere.
The Sis Kata resort is “adults only” meaning no kids unless 13 and over. I didn’t even see anyone under 30 at the resort.
I’ve stayed at your typical resort hotels where they have music blasting, organized activities scheduled throughout the day and kids screaming and running around. You won’t find any of that here.
The hotel is lively enough to have a fun atmosphere and not feel like a grandma hotel, but chill enough that it also doesn’t feel like spring break. It is perfect for couples, girl’s trips, or a group of friends.

Sis Kata amenities
The resort offers just about every amenity you could need during your stay. So much so that you may not want to even leave the hotel.
Dining & Drinks
The hotel has a restaurant on the same level as the pool. Each morning there is an extensive breakfast buffet that you can have included with your stay. I highly recommend you do. They provide a massive spread of options including a hot dish station to order eggs of your choice, or even french toast.
Breakfast is available until 11am, perfect for those of us that want to fully relax and sleep in. Plus with such a large breakfast late in the morning you will not need another meal until dinner.
For drinks there is a swim up pool bar to enjoy your cocktails while you soak up the sun. Or, the restaurant bar opens in the late afternoon where you can sit inside or out on the patio watching the sun set.
On the ground level, outside reception there is also a coffee and tea shop.

Wellness
Outside of the incredible jungle like atmosphere in the main entry, the roof deck is the star of the hotel. You will spend most of your time at the resort on the roof deck. Aside from the restaurant and patio, this is where you will find the infinity pool overlooking the Andaman Sea.
After the breakfast service the music changes to upbeat pop music, but at the perfect volume. You do not have to worry about it being so loud that you either can’t talk to your travel companions, or take a little afternoon nap by the pool.
There are a variety of loungers and cabanas available to use while poolside. There are a limited number of each, however we managed to find a spot every day. The pool is facing west, meaning you will get maximum sunshine. Make sure you reapply your sunscreen regularly.
Along with the pool there is a 24 hour fitness center on the top floor overlooking the pool and atrium.
Lastly, it would not be a resort in Thailand without a spa. Connected to the hotel is the Let’s Relax Spa where you can get a variety treatments from massages to body scrubs. A trip to Thailand is not complete without at least one massage.

Additional amenities
There is a small library and business center near the gym. This is the perfect spot if you need a quiet place out of the sun, and away from your room. Next to the gym is also a small game room with air hockey and foosball.
The hotel also has free onsite covered parking if you choose to rent a car in Phuket. I have rented a car both times I visited Phuket. Because the island is so large, if you plan to explore a rental is the way to go. Having a parking garage is a major bonus.

The rooms
There are a variety of rooms available at the Sis Kata Resort, but you won’t find a bad room. We stayed in one of the standard garden view rooms. The room is spacious with a king sized bed, sitting area and a balcony that is equipped with a jacuzzi large enough for two.
One of my favorite features was that the hotel provides cute robes branded to align with the resort marketing. There are also two beach towels and beach tote bags to use during your stay. No need to worry about packing extra items just to go down to the beach.

Service at the Sis Kata Resort
Upon arriving at the hotel the staff will greet you with a cool washcloth and a welcome cocktail or mocktail while you check in. You’re greeted each time you enter or exit the hotel. Every member of the staff was extremely friendly and helpful from the bellhops to the cleaning staff.
The location
This Kata Beach resort and spa is located on the southwest end of Phuket island in Kata. Kata is a popular beach and surf town that is roughly an hour and a half south of the airport. You’ll find that Kata is much quieter and less chaotic than Patong. While it is generally considered a one of the more family friendly locations, you will still find bars and cannabis shops throughout the town.
The resort is a short 5 minute walk to the south end of Kata Beach and a 10-15 minute walk to the quieter Kata Noi Beach. It sits on a hill, which provides sweeping views of the water and beach from the roof deck.
The Sis Kata location is close enough to restaurants, shops and the beach, but also just enough on the edge of town to avoid crowds and loud activity.
Where to book the Sis Kata Resort
You can of course book directly through the Sis Kata hotel website, however I find you’ll get better prices through the sites below.
