Le Barn Appetit
Le Barn Appetit is one of the highest rated restaurants in Seward Alaska. The restaurant is located just outside of the downtown area of Seward as part of a seasonal Inn.
Le Barn is a true breakfast spot, they are only open morning through early afternoon. The menu features sweet and savory crepes along with Belgian Waffles.
The restaurant is only open during the summer season. For 2024 that means as of June 10th. Check their website to make sure they are open before you try to visit.

Zudy’s Cafe
As one of the only restaurants in Seward Alaska on the water, Zudy’s Cafe is one of the must visit restaurants in Seward Alaska.
The building is what appears to be an old train station, and has uninterrupted views of Resurrection Bay and the Chugach mountain range.
Zudy’s has breakfast from 9-11am then lunch from 11-3pm, Monday – Saturday. The breakfast menu consists of breakfast sandwiches, bagels, waffles and a classic breakfast plate.
FYI, they do not take reservations, and there are limited tables. Arrive early to guarantee a seat.

Primrose Provisions
Located right on the waterfront in Seward, Primrose Provisions is a unique mix of vintage shop, market place, deli and wine bar. Primrose Provisions is connected to Zudy’s Cafe on the waterfront park near the Alaska Sealife Center.
Primrose is open Thursday – Monday 11am – 8pm. While you can stop by for dinner, the menu consists of specialty toasts, sandwiches, cheese plates and charcuterie boards. I’d recommend stopping by for lunch or late afternoon to grab a glass of wine. If you have a mid-day marine tour, order ahead to take your food to go.
Zudy’s Cafe
Zudy’s changes over their menu from breakfast to lunch starting at 11am. The lunch menu consists of sandwiches and hot paninis.
Tables are limited, arrive early to guarantee a seat or to grab food to go prior to a tour.

Firebrand BBQ
This small BBQ joint was started by a Texas couple that had moved to Alaska after seeing the lack of BBQ options in the area.
More of a roadside stand than a restaurant, all seating is outdoors on picnic benches under a covered pavilion.
Firebrand is open daily from 7am -8pm during the summer season, from mid-May through mid-September.
Reds Burgers
Small local burger and fried fish spot. Order at the window then you can take your food to go or eat inside the renovated school bus for a unique dining atmosphere.
This burger joint is only open for the summer season. As one of the most popular places to eat in Seward Alaska, it’s also one of the smallest. If there is a line, prepare to wait awhile for your food.
They are open Thursday – Saturday 11-9 and Sunday – Monday 11-8.

Best Restaurants in Seward Alaska: Dinner
The Cookery
The Cookery is one of the highest rated restaurants in Seward, and considered the best place to eat in Seward for dinner. They feature Alaskan dining with locally sourced food, including fresh oysters.
If you are a wine lover, they also have one of the larger collections available in the city.
Reservations are recommended during peak season, which you can book here. They are open Tuesday – Sunday 5-10pm.
Lone Chicharron Taqueria
This Taqueria is owned by the same couple that started The Cookery. And like The Cookery, it’s one of the most popular and highest rated Seward AK restaurants.
The Lone Chicharron Taqueria features street tacos, tortas and burritos, and even homemade popsicles.
They are open Tuesday – Saturday from 12-8pm. No reservations available, just drop in.

Gold Rush Bistro
Gold Rush Bistro is your classic low key neighborhood restaurant in Seward. They’re known for having an incredible burger and seafood chowder, and as such is one of the most popular places to eat in Seward AK.
The restaurant doesn’t take reservations, but you can be added to their daily waitlist here. They are open during the summer season Monday – Saturday 3-9pm.
Seasalt
Seasalt is one the more popular seafood restaurants in Seward Alaska. The menu is focused on Alaskan cuisine, with a heavy local Alaska seafood menu, including fresh local salmon and other regional fish, as well as crab from the region. The menu also has some non-seafood options like burgers and mac & cheese.
The restaurant sits right on the edge of the downtown with views of Resurrection Bay.
During the summer they are open daily from 11-10pm. Check with the restaurant for off season hours.

Woodys Thai Kitchen
Woodys is a popular Thai restaurant that is conveniently located near the cruise ship terminal. This is a great option for people looking for vegan or vegetarian food, or need a break from deep fried foods.
Woody’s is open in the summer from Tuesday – Saturday from 12-830. This is also one of the few Seward restaurants open in winter.
Seward Brewing Company
For more casual dining where you can enjoy a flight of beer at the same time, stop by the Seward Brewing Company. This is one of the largest restaurants in Seward AK, with two floors of space. This is one of the best restaurants in Seward Alaska with a view. The upstairs seating has fantastic views of the bay and surrounding fjords.
The menu offers a mix of classic bar and brewery fare like pretzels and burgers, but they also have wood fired pizzas and a mix of vegetarian friendly options.
The brewery is open seasonally Wednesday – Monday from 5-10pm, no reservations accepted.
