The Turnau City Aparthotel lacks the amenities of a hotel, but the proximity to the Krakow old town and train station make it a great option for accommodations in Krakow.

About Turnau City Aparthotel in Krakow
The Turnau City Aparthotel are fully furnished apartments that land somewhere in between an Airbnb and hotel.
Turnau City Aparthotel Amenities
As far as amenities there really aren’t any as far as the building is concerned. There is no fitness center or restaurant in the building. The apartments do however come equipped with a kitchenette, washing machine, and a balcony.
Dining & Drinks
The A1 building does not have any restaurants or cafes, but the A2 building has Krowa na Szlaku Steaks & Burgers at street level.
There are however a number of restaurants within walking distance and street food stands near the train station. There is also fast food and a Carrefour grocery store inside the Galeria Krakowska shopping center.
The booking sites list an option to add on a continental breakfast for 50zl (or $14). However, seeing as there’s no restaurant I’m not sure what exactly that means, or where it comes from. You can go to the nearby grocery store and stock your own breakfast items in the kitchenette for much cheaper.
Additional information
Parking is available for 60zl per night ($17). But you shouldn’t need a car in the city as transportation is very easy and efficient. There are multiple tram stops just outside the buildings, and the train station is less than a 10 minute walk.

The rooms
The building offers 12 different types of apartments. However, most are varying sizes of studio flats. There are also 1 and 2 bed apartments for families or larger groups.
Note: If you are traveling in the summer, not all units have air conditioning and they charge extra to book one with AC.
I stayed in the standard studio, which includes a queen bed and balcony.

Comfort
The room was quite spacious for a studio. The bed was very comfortable, however the pillows were questionable. There were only (2) and one was basically useless. It looks fluffy until you put any weight on it, then it’s the thickness of a pancake. And there were only (2) pillows. Fine as a solo person, but if you have (2) people staying, one person is going to have some rough sleep ahead if they’re a side sleeper.
Also note, that like the majority of European hotels, top sheets do not exist and each side of the bed has its own separate twin sized comforter.

Service at the Turnau City Aparthotel in Krakow
I’ve stayed at other apartment hotels that actually function like a hotel with a reception, check in, amenities and staff. There is really no “hotel” to this stay, it’s really just apartments for rent.
There is a phone number you can call or text for issues, but other than that you will not interact with another person (except other residents) during your stay.
The location
The Turnau City Aparthotel location is outside of the Krakow Old Town, about 10 minutes north of the Krakow Glowny train station. The apartments are well located to use public transportation with bus stops, tram stops and subway stations just outside the building. You’ll be able to get to most areas of the city with one of these options.
You can also walk to the edge of the Old Town, around the Barbican, in about 10 minutes, or the main square in around 15 minutes. To get to the Jewish Quarter or riverfront, it is a much longer walk, so public transit will be quickest.

Finding the Turnau City Aparthotel
You will receive a separate email from the Turnau City Aparthotel management the day prior to your arrival. It is imperative you read through this email as it provides directions on how to get in and access your unit. There is also a very small map attached to the email (not embedded) showing the building maps as there is A1 and A2.
The building location in Google is for the A2 building. If you are not located in A2, you will be very confused to find your apartment does not exist (this happened to me). And after calling I was directed to A1. You will find that the A2 building has “Turnau City Aparthotel” signage at the entrance, where the A1 building says “Angel City Apartments”.
What I did not like about this process (aside from the confusing maps) is that it functions like an airbnb, despite the fact that they own and manage a large portion of the apartments in the building. Even though there is a “security guard” at the A1 building, they will not assist in getting you to your apartment. You have to go through the effort of getting buzzed in to find the room to unlock the keypad in order to get the keys.
All this could be fixed by having a separate building number or address for each building, especially considering they 1) aren’t attached 2) the entrances are on two different streets. Also, providing consistent names and signage at each entrance.

Overall review of the Turnau City Aparthotel
Despite a few minor issues, this is a great option for long term stays and accommodations near the city city center that won’t break the budget. The Turnau City Aparthotel prices can also be extremely affordable. I got a great last minute deal on Expedia paying only $80 for 2 nights (in February).
In addition to the full kitchenette, the washing machine is a great bonus while traveling. The bathroom also has the best counter space and storage of everywhere I stayed over my 5 week trip across Europe.

Where to book the Turnau City Aparthotel
You can of course book directly through the Turnau Aparthotel website, however I find you’ll get better prices through the sites below.
